Memorial Day and controlled burns
I am walking into town a little over 2 miles away. I look up at the skies and notice that there is smoke coming up over the mountains. I am SHOCKED and saddened as I know this is a fire. Last summer all around us were forest fires. The smoke was so thick you did not want to go outside because with every breath you took you could feel your lungs burn. Your eyes burned and your clothes and home smelled of smoke more than you could imagine. It was like that from the 1st of June all the way through the summer. A summer I will never forget.

Well I made it and I am sitting here on my sons computer in Anaheim Hills. My father has been transferred to a transitional living home here close by, which is good news. It looks as though a little while there and my daddy will be back at home and be his old self again (perhaps a little slower), so all and all every thing seems to be looking good as far as that goes. I will be getting to see him today. I got here at my sons at 4:00 P.M. yesterday and they were moving my dad so that's why I needed to wait till today. But pulling into this area it is absolutely incredible the devastation done by the fires of a couple weeks ago. And I have only seen so little of it. My young one Hunter whom is staying here now also took me for a walk last night and we were looking down at nothing but rolling blackened hills. To stand in the place we were standing while a fire was burning would I am sure have seen like a scene of a fire storm in a war movie, one (me) can only imagine the horror of seeing it in "real time" I know my son is incredibly lucky to have a home standing.
I would like to thank "King Al" and Timethief for the well wishes. It is so very kind indeed. It's great my father seems to be snapping out of it and now I can go back to the original plan of Andy's birthday party and me getting to go and "Party with the two year olds"

Orange County Fires
Quite awhile back I said I was done changing my blog template. I was happy with the one I had .Night before last however I received a phone call from one of my sons that lives down in Southern Ca. Him and his wife had just bought a condo there about 6 weeks to a couple of months ago. They were being evacuated due to the fires. Being a mommy I was worried sick. Living in the town I live in there is no place to go after 6 P.M. except the bar and I don't do the bar. So sleep was evading me and I had nothing to do. I googled earth so much it was pathetic, I stumbled till I could stumble no more. I crocheted till my fingers hurt, and I googled everything I have always meant to google. That left me with only one thing to do. Find another template for Just My Day Blog!

I finally fell asleep, (or should I say my boys in southern Ca. must have fell asleep cuz the phone quit ringing ) and THEN I finally fell asleep.
I am happy to say he was allowed back into his new home yesterday. I think it was yesterday. Nights like those can really screw up your "internal clock" and then add a couple years! LOL!!
