Survivor-Tocantins Coach is hanging in there!
Friday, April 24, 2009Well Ben Wade made it through another show. To those that does not know why I am writing this, it is because on the T.V. show "Survivor-Tocantins" a local man is on it. He is referred to as coach. Last nights show was VERY interesting as it looked as if Sierra was for sure a goner, but instead someone else was voted off. For Coach I am sure this is a HUGE upset to him and I can hardly wait to see the next show. I have yet to have a favorite on whom I think should win. I would love opinions on that from any readers whom may be watching. At first I was really disorientated by the way "Coach" acted and presented himself, and I missed last weeks show which by our local newspaper coverage was dedicated a lot to him, but he seems to be softening up bit and showing a more "human" side for lack of a better word from my end. In our local paper it spoke this week of a man that has written a book about Ben Wade and his adventures kayaking. So those stories so many think he is bullshitting about, the kayaking, amazon etc. are apparently true. With that new found info on my part I have found myself looking at him differently. It sure would be a trip if "Lassen County man becomes a millionaire on Survivor"
I as everybody else has to admit that "Coach" has made it this far and there are only 7 people left!
Who do you think should be voted off next week? I would love to hear from you!
Coach on "Survivor"
Wednesday, March 25, 2009I just this minute got through with watching a special edition of Survivor-Tocantins. It was not the usual show per say, no games, no "the tribe has spoken". It was a more in depth look at the people whom are playing, along with some unseen footage.
I have not been very quiet on my view of the one I am calling "homeboy." That would be coach. He lives just 21 miles east of me in the town of Susanville, Ca. which is located in northern Ca.
Personally I have been saying he is all mouth, no action. I also have been saying I never see him pull his weight as far as the games go. And so far I still feel that way! However tonight the viewers got to see a bit of personality come out on them all.
At one point Coach pretended to be conducting a non existant symphony. This is what he does in what I call real life. He explained a bit about what movements are used and why, when it comes to conducting a symphony.
Quite honestly I happened to be impressed. I know I learned a little something about being a conductor tonight through him and I found it very interesting. And in doing so it softened me a bit on what I perceive him to be like as a human being on the streets.
He did not let me down though in other parts of his story, as he still showed a holier than thou persona that has been seen by all since the start of this show. And at the end tonight they showed a preview of whats to come next week. It looks as though old coach is going to have a little fight on his hands to stay on the show and not get voted off as they mentioned he will be getting turned on by his fellow tribe members.
As I close this post I will say again, that this is a game. He and all the others are there to play a game and walk away with one million dollars. The way he is playing it, may just be the right way. So until next week, (when it will be on at it's regularly scheduled time) I will wait to watch "homeboy" play a game for one million dollars!
Survivor-Tocantins How is "Homeboy" going to do tonight?
Thursday, March 12, 2009
Well another Thursday night watching T.V. something I never do (except The View, I love my girls, especially Joy) and now this. As I have posted before, a local man, the one they call coach is on Survivor- Tocantins, so for me it has peaked my interest. Ya know I do not care much about talking about people and I really don't want to make any enemies here, but the 2nd episode with his tongue slashing was pretty gross, and now the more I watch the more I do not see him pull his weight in any way. I have seen everyone run faster, work harder, etc. But all he seems to do is run his mouth. I wonder how long this is going to last? Of course our local papers state he is one hell of a guy. He is a "Coach" of a woman's sports team and believe it or not he has something to do with the Susanville Symphony. (I realize I probably should have been more informed about it all before writing this) But that's not why I am writing it.I think (for me anyway) he is the guy you love to hate. AND this IS A game afterall, and you never know, he may know EXACTLY what he is doing. So go get them again tonight "Coach" I will be watching just as a lot of homeboys and girls will be doing. Make Susanville proud.
Survivor-Tocantins
Thursday, February 19, 2009I never have been a television watcher. Never cared for it much at all. I suspect I might even have a slight case of A.D.D. as I can't simply just sit still for an hour watching T.V. let alone 3 hours or so for a movie. But all that changed last Thursday night when the premiere of this season "Survivor-Tocantins" started. You see we, (Lassen County, Ca.) have one of our own on it this season. I can't say that I know him. His name is Ben Wade and is being called Coach on the show. With that said something pulled me to the show last week. I suspect just a little recognition of our small towns. (He's from Susanville) although it was not mentioned, (the town) but northeastern Ca. was and that was good enough for me. All of Lassen county is talking about it, and it hooked me also.
So tonight I will be seated in a chair watching television about a man I do not know from a place I love with all my heart.
Go Lassen County, make us proud Ben Wade.
