Followers, Friend connect etc.

I have blogs I follow. I follow these blogs because I want to. They have something that I enjoy reading, learning, and laughing with. When blogger decided to change it's followers deal and I guess add followers with friend connect, I did not realize that I personally had to go through each and everyone of my blogs that I was following and redo it. So today I have finally accomplished that feat. You see, I have blogs I love to read, I have blogs that relate to woodworking that are very important to me. I have blogs I follow because I can always get a smile from my face after reading them. So I am writing this just to let those that I follow, that I was unaware I was being put as anonymous as a follower, and that I think I have it back to the way I had it before all this happened.
PEACE!!!

I thought I lost my followers

Tuesday, February 24, 2009
Man I was all bummed kicked yesterday when I came to blogger and saw that I had lost half of my followers. I sat around trying to figure out what I had done wrong or pissed off, LOL or whatever to have lost so many followers in one day. I just read on Twitter that it is a blogger issue and that all people like me should not stress. !
Thank God!!!
So off to de-stressville I will go, which incidently is in my kitchen in the form of a nice cold Rum and Coke!
PEACE!!!

Removing No Follow tags

Friday, November 21, 2008
When you change your templates through blogger removing the "No Follow" tags is not something that comes with it. Recently I changed this one and simply forgot about it until it was pointed out to me. Sooo if you have recently changed your Blogger template and you want your "No Follow" tags removed, Amanda at Blogger Buster has a really easy tutorial to show you how which can be found here .

Post from your igoogle page

Saturday, October 25, 2008
I just now happened to find this on my dashboard of Blogger. It seems that now you can publish a post from your igoogle home page with what is called the Blogger post gadget. I am doing it right now to see how it works. Just go to your dashboard and click on the “+ Google” to have this added to your home page. I am not quite sure if this particular gadget is something I will use much but I for sure can see how it could be real handy for others.
Quoting from my dashboard about this gadget it says "You can use HTML in the text box, but if you want more rich text editing — for example, to upload a photo — just click “Save Draft” and you’ll get a link to edit the post in the full Blogger post editor."
I just thought I would pass this a long as I had not noticed it yet myself.

Well now I just did use it and all came out fine as you can see. So another gadget from Google that may be very helpful to some!

Would you care to follow me?

Monday, September 08, 2008
Finally my name came up on blogger for me to add followers. Well now I have the followers widget, but I have no followers.I am sure you can see the dilemma I am in!  LoL. So if you read my blog or visit once in awhile would you mind following me? I am pretty excited about this new widget as I have several blogs that I read thru my Google reader and/or just visit the blog itself. If these bloggers add this widget to their blog I will add my name to theirs as a follower. I think as bloggers this is a great idea for others to see the followers. Word of mouth (or printed type) is an excellant way to give the blogs and bloggers that you enjoy a word of recognition. As you can see on my sidebar i have my blog must reads written there, but I would love to show them on this widget also!
Anyone?

Allison's pet peeve and rant all rolled into one!

Wednesday, August 20, 2008
There was a part of me that never ever wanted to learn anything about the computer. I live, and love living in a quiet mountain town and enjoy the simplicity of it all. I also would not consider myself stupid, and when it finally became apparent I was not going to beat them, so I  might as well join them theory( that to do with learning the computer) I pretty much am glad I did. I have found a world of knowledge and met some of the "nicest people I will never meet" on the internet. I have had a whole new world introduced to me. I have seen pictures of places I will never get to see. I have read and debated about issues (which I REALLY enjoy) by reading other peoples blogs (something else I really enjoy), or the zillion of  news sources that are all here at my fingertips. Because my town is so small and seems to have gotton lost on the map at times, I have heard about fires this summer that I received through Google Alerts a lot sooner if I would have waited to hear about them through the television, or newspapers, or worse yet seen them out my back door! With that all said I still get the pain, the sickness, the ill at ease feeling about the computer and internet once in awhile. Like when I first got this computer and the first one I had ever used, I remember trying to come up with the website for the T.V. show The View. (I am a BIG fan of Joy Bahaer). It is the only show I ever watch. I hate T.V. Just a personal preference, yet sometimes I feel like I have Adult ADD, (Attention Deficit Disorder) Anyway I could not BELIEVE what a person can come up with when you type in "The View"
LOL!!!
But I did not know what I was doing and knew nothing about anything, and in retrospect it IS kind of funny ...unless... you have a child in the house.
But that is a different story, yet that is the very reason I HATED the thought of having a computer. Because I had only heard about the bad!!!!
Recently though I have run into what I call to myself (but not anymore) LOL!!! as Cyber punks. The ones with razor sharp tongues that are ready and waiting to cut your throat, or cut you down or whatever it may be to perhaps give themselves some sort of cyber superiority.
And I am defenseless. I truly believe in respect and do everything in my power and control  to give it, to receive it. It is probably my biggest bitch in the world of Allison.
but because of this computer I am succumbing, to less than I want to be seen in me. I have found my self now a couple times unable to bite my tongue any longer due to the pain of being respectful to those you do not know but some how have a way of fucking you or your thoughts in to their common good! And I ashamed. I am ashamed at myself to lowering myself to something I truly am not!
When ever I write something on the internet that is not a quote or has no source, it is my opinion. It does not mean I am right. It is just my opinion. 99.9% of the people I interact with on the internet know that and all is well. But that 00.01% sure seems to wreak havoc on my self and my personal being and that REALLY BUGS ME!!!
I wish I could get over it.
Why can't I?
With no sarcasm intended
PEACE!!!
I already feel better getting THAT off my chest!
Did you hear the one about ....?

Do women really change their mind more than men?

Monday, August 11, 2008
After this week end I know I can say I can place myself in that catagory. After being a little upset with this template loading slower than my others I decided to change it, even though I REALLY like this one!
I have only had one comment bad about it brought to my attention and that was over the color, and yea! I do LIKE red! However I did not listen to my true self and went ahead and changed it with not one but four (4) , all new ones I found, all can be found through Blogger Buster in Amanda's article 125 blogger templates (the best yet) and they are beautiful and they are seductive and I wanted to change mine. They were begging me to give some of them a try, and even tho' I have a "test blog" for such a purpose, (I have been known to do this before) I just had to do it for real. In my long wake-up call of a weekend the only smart thing I really did was back this one up. I say wake-up call because I knew better from the start. First I am a woman so I do believe in the cliche' that perhaps we do change our minds more than the opposite sex, but the other is I am a Capricorn woman and a Capricorn woman prefers routine to chaos. And that is exactly what this blog and myself were in the entire weekend. CHAOS!
But I am back, and I have my original template and I do love "Blood Red" and I do like my slower than usual loading template (which of course has to do with some of the items and widgets I place on it!) So all is back to normal for me and my blog and I learned my lesson and I should have listened to myself to begin with that I do like this template. Sooo the moral of my little story is
"No more changing my template"
Until the next time of course,
cuz I am a woman
and we can and do change our minds!
and in my case
SOMETIMES
too much!!!
