Google Reader Subscriptions

Tuesday, March 17, 2009
I was going through my Google Reader Subscriptions and trying to straighten it out a bit. I found that I had several of my favorite blog reads subscriptions in different folders. So I was subscribed to 3 of Drowsey Monkey, and 3  King Al's thoughts of the day, & I actually had 4 Make use of's. I enjoy ALL these blogs, (and there were actually more) but not enough to have them in my feed reader 3, 4, or more times. LOL!
Sooo I do not know if Google tells blog writers when someone deletes their feeds, but if this does happen and it is from me, I just deleted the EXTRA"S! I did not unsubscribe to anyone, just the surplus. LOL!!!
I just wanted to clear that up in case it came up. How I got so many of the same ones in my reader is something I have to figure out.LOL!!!
Happy Saint Patricks day to all!

I thought I lost my followers

Tuesday, February 24, 2009
Man I was all bummed kicked yesterday when I came to blogger and saw that I had lost half of my followers. I sat around trying to figure out what I had done wrong or pissed off, LOL or whatever to have lost so many followers in one day. I just read on Twitter that it is a blogger issue and that all people like me should not stress. !
Thank God!!!
So off to de-stressville I will go, which incidently is in my kitchen in the form of a nice cold Rum and Coke!
PEACE!!!

I am a complaining bitch, I guess!

Thursday, January 15, 2009
I have been commenting on others blogs for two reasons mainly
#1. is I like to, I never comment on something I read that I don't care about so if I leave a comment on your blog it is because I truly want to and your subject matter is worth it to me that I feel the desire to say something on it.
#2. Because I like your subject matter I in fact will most likely be back so I am a little selfish that I am thinking internet friends per say. I don't expect you to post on mine but just know that I appreciate the opportunity to post in your comment section.
My complaint?
Having  a comment form on your blog and then you pick and chose which ones you are going to allow to be posted. I am no spammer, I have never left a mean or nasty comment on anyones blog, and I do not cuss, (except on King Als blog and he said I could LOL!!!)
I find that a huge insult. This has been happening to me on one particular blog. first time I ignored it, second time I was aggravated and wondered why? So I tried one more time, and this person did it again. Needless to say I will not do it anymore, but it bugs me because I wonder why. There are others comments that "went through" but not mine.
I think it is FUCKING RUDE, and obviously I won't be back.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this? If you do it will you tell me why you chose to leave some people out?
Thanks I am dying to know

Blogger Busters and lil' ol me!

Sunday, January 11, 2009
Amanda, the writer over at Blogger Buster posted a post of her personal favorite free blog templates of the year 2008. Any one that has been reading this blog of mine Just My Day Blog knows I have changed templates a zillion times. At the end of her post she decided to add one last one to her 20 favorites of 2008 and I was quite shocked that it was this very template that you are reading from. Entitled Cellar Heat, I myself fell in love with it the first time I ever saw it.
The reason why I love it so much is this.
I put an awful lot of pictures in my blog posts, but unless it is a photo blog  a person just doesn't want to scroll down past 20 something pictures just to read the next post. At least when I would visit other's blogs I found this to be a big red flag for me. This template fixed that for me.
I have been to Blogger Buster more times than I can count this past year and have received a tremendous amount of information about blogging, templates, everything to do with blogging at that site.
So for this particular template to be mentioned there was an unexpected pleasure for no particular reason other than perhaps I have learned enough this past year from Blogger Busters and then to have a template that I found to love so much be mentioned there seems almost like a ass backwards compliment, but also in my eyes proves that I indeed have learned a lot from Amanda at Blogger Buster.
I really do love this Template!

A Fairy Tale ending to blogging!!!

Wednesday, January 07, 2009
I have found what I guess could be called Internet friends in this pretty new for me journey of the Internet and/or blogging. I have found some blogs that I really, really do enjoy, and what is nicer than that is when you find the person behind the blog being a personable human being.

I suppose they could really be the biggest asshole around, but when you start commenting and reading others comments , and then reading comments from the blog owner to the other commenting readers, (did you understand all that because I am not sure I did?) I can't help but think they they are pretty much showing their true personality.

Then out of the clear blue for no apparent reason you find yourself hooked, lined, and sinkered on this particular blog and the post's STOP. Just stop for no apparent reason, you find yourself lucky if the blog you have yourself addicted to is putting out a post a week let alone the usual 3or 4, or a post a day.

This is what I myself believe is what happens.

I find if you are following a blog and something personal, (bad) has happened in the bloggers life, they will tell you so.

They will post something like "My dear old Grampa Jake has left us now and we will be gone for a few for a few days and I won't be posting."

I was a faithful reader of a blog that came out of Southern ca. and the blog owner excused themselves for awhile as they were doing things much more important, such as praying their home was not going to burn down in the horrendous firestorms that hit So. California not to long ago....

Them there's are those that I think perhaps got blogging burnout , they came up the ranks with bloggers so fast that perhaps it made their heads spin. They just stopped because they were burned out. I had that happen in two blogs I would read everyday. then one day it just stopped, no more posts, no more explanations, their blog is still there but the last day they posted was 6 months ago.

Soooo my explanation to those bloggers in between, the ones that have a good following, the ones you really enjoy and actually look forward to reading on a daily basis, and therefore usually shows that the blog writer really enjoyed doing it is this

DRUMROLL PLEASE!!!

My answer to the age old question on why a very good blog with a very good blog writer, whom obviously enjoyed blogging, AND has not let his/her readers know the abruptness of slowing down let alone quitting is.............

LOVE

They have fallen in love,

Nothing is more powerful and time consuming then new love. A blogger who finds their selves in "New Love" may have many an hour to blog but they can't. they have other things to think about. Whether or not they really want to write a post they can't because new love has them consumed.
Of course I could just be living in a fairy tale world with hopes and dreams, and the perfect excuse for those who's blogs I so enjoy that have just quit blogging!

But it is kinda nice fairy tale ending to a blogging story do you not think?

Make your "Tweets" stand out!

Tuesday, January 06, 2009
Still in the process of one of my New Years resolutions, which is to go through my wide array of book marks and eliminate the ones that I am not, nor even ever have used. I have far too many of them and they are really out of control. In the midst of this madness, I came across another one I wish to share. This one was saved just a short time ago.
Twitter Buttons is the name of the site. As stated in their header, this is the "your source for free Twitter Buttons." They have a nice selection over there. I am using one in the right bottom section of my side bar. They have several to pick from, and there are those that are animated even. Sooo if you are interested in making your "Tweets" stand out on your blog, than give this site a look see. There is bound to be a "Twitter Button" for you.

I pulled it off!

Wednesday, December 10, 2008
Well I have now been home for two days. I am just now feeling like I am getting back to normal. Of course I am not sure what normal is, nor if assuming I can get that way is a fair portrait of myself. But any how, I did a whole shit load of posting on my Pinetown's First Lady Living Life in Lassen County in the White House just trying to catch up with the daily pics.
Then in my e-mail today I see this Google chat gadget that you will now see here below the posts. I am like a little kid sometimes when it comes to these things. I just had to have it yet I have no clue how it works. I am hoping one of my readers will be so kind as to explain this to this old lady! LOL!!!
All in all I did not know if I had it in me to pull off all the things I did these last ten days and still be here to write about it. but I did and in reality it was quite refreshing to be that busy. I kind of enjoyed it. So until tomorrow when I plan on posting daily again Good-Night!
and PEACE!!!

KING AL'S THOUGHTS OF THE DAY

Wednesday, September 17, 2008
Well it seems that with no intent at all , I just so happened to have written about others peoples blogs/sites the last couple days. The first one can be seen on here. This is of course my shameless blog promotion of my main site which is Wood Alley. And day before yesterday it just so happened that what I consider to be my ultimate favorite woodworking blog Scrollsaw Goodies and it's writer Travis, just so happened to have started podcasting about his scrolling. Because I really do love his blog so much and really am excited for him and for his readers about his new podcasting venture, I really did want to write about it. I have a whole set of different readers on that site, and it feels good to pass the word around.
Then Yesterday I wrote about TechFlaps/Waves of Technology written by Binish Mathew on this blog in the preceding post (and actually two other posts).
I really do this for only one reason. That is to let my personal friends and family (that mainly are my main readers here on just my day blog) and for my friends and readers in the woodworking community know of blogs/sites that I feel are key to woodworking know about these places.
Since I find myself writing about others blogs I cannot stop with out writing about one more. That would be KING AL'S THOUGHTS OF THE DAY. Albert the writer named his blog well, as this is exactly what it is, simply his thoughts of the day. Unlike the two blog/sites mentioned above that I so enjoy, Albert's blog is not theme based. It has a new and quite different post everyday. He obviously has a lot of readers as he generates a lot of comments, and they too are great fun to read. I found him and his blog thru Blog Catalog, and when I checked his out for the first time there were several things that caught my attention. One being in his header where most people have "about me", He has "almost nothing you ever wanted to know about me" . My thought first thing is humor! I love that. Then when I went on to read almost nothing I ever wanted to know about him, he has listed a love of baseball. That just so happens to be my favorite sport. But the main thing that caught my eye is that this blog is what I was looking for as a blog read. Everyone has their preferences and mine just so happens to be a blog like this. You never know what is going to be written and you never know what kind of comments it will generate. Something quite different every day makes this blog a pleasure to read. So to my family and friends who are reading this , give him and his blog a "check it out thing" you may very well find yourself such as I "checking it out on a daily basis"
PEACE!!!

Would you care to follow me?

Monday, September 08, 2008
Finally my name came up on blogger for me to add followers. Well now I have the followers widget, but I have no followers.I am sure you can see the dilemma I am in!  LoL. So if you read my blog or visit once in awhile would you mind following me? I am pretty excited about this new widget as I have several blogs that I read thru my Google reader and/or just visit the blog itself. If these bloggers add this widget to their blog I will add my name to theirs as a follower. I think as bloggers this is a great idea for others to see the followers. Word of mouth (or printed type) is an excellant way to give the blogs and bloggers that you enjoy a word of recognition. As you can see on my sidebar i have my blog must reads written there, but I would love to show them on this widget also!
Anyone?

What color should my blog be?

Your Blog Should Be Red

Your blog is full of intensity and passion.

You are very opinionated - and people love or hate you for it.

You have the potential to be both a famous and infamous blogger.

I just took this quiz and this was the answer. A little irony for my afternoon. Anyone that has been here before knows that bright red was my original blog color. I am thinkin' what a trip!!!

Irony, and human kindness

Wednesday, August 20, 2008
After what I posted my last post not very long ago, I received an e-mail from someone who's site/blog I had ran across a couple days ago, that I really liked. I had decided to subscribe to his feed. In doing so, feed-burner said that I could not. (I know longer remember the exact words) so I decided to write this person an e-mail just to let him know what had happened.
He wrote me back thanking me!
Wow, too cool!!!
Especially after I had just posted my last post here.
I told this person I would like to write about it, but I want his permission first, so that's why there are no names of his or his site/blog.
I just had to write this after the last rant I just wrote.
Brings me back down to the earth I love, and that is the one where most people ARE good people!
PEACE!!!

How do you get someone to comment?

Friday, July 25, 2008
Just about any blog that I go to, I will try to at least leave a comment, or if there is a guest book I will sign it. Am I just a handful of people that do? I am really wondering about that. I go to other blogs and I see all sorts of comments, yet I very rarely see any on mine. I realize this blog is only 12 days old. I also know that sooo much of it is my family, of which I would not even expect a comment. However it goes for my other 2 blogs as well.  My 2pass2me blog I use to get a few people that would comment and send me funny, humorus items, but even that has sizzled down. I would love an honest opinion? Maybe it is to young of a blog. Is there to many posts on my page? I personally don't care much for having to click for every post (magazine style) but is that what most people like?
Thanks if you will let me know. It will be appreciated.
PEACE!!!

I just don't get it!

Sunday, July 13, 2008

I am putting this on all my blogs because I do not see what I am suppose to see!

Yesterday I asked if anyone knew what this picture was of, I got a couple replys saying they didn't see "it" I kept saying I know, I don't see "it" either that is why I am asking. Sooo doing my usual morning thing, checking Blogs, e-mails, etc. I find that the "IT" you all were talking about and why you could not see it, because it LITERALLY wasn't there. I use blogger in draft and it explains explicitly that you can not "Save" when using blogger in draft. So yesterday when I posted (or thought I did) this picture (and I did) BUT I must of went back a page or something and then pressed publish post without even thinking to check it!!!

SOOOO grab a cup of coffee or perhaps a nice spirit and have a laugh on me!!!! I deserve it! Soooo here's to ya!
