Home is where the doggy door is.

A fawn followed this beagle home -- right through the doggie door --  in the Bittinger, MD area.

The owner came home to find the visitor  had made himself right at home.

Buick and a Watery Wednesday

Wednesday, February 04, 2009
Buick is my Watery Wednesday picture. I have never known a dog that will play in a sprinkler for hours on end and enjoys every minute of it. The higher the water, the higher he will jump. He is my dog "Buick" So as to not upset his little sister "Nala" whom is actually younger than him but much bigger I will add a picture of her swimming in the pond behind my house.

Trying to look pretty

And my favorite shot of him "catching some air"

And "Nala" so her feelings don't get hurt!!!

I am a grandmother again!!!

Monday, January 19, 2009
Any one that has ever read this blog knows I have 3 grandchildren. My youngest is Andrew Robert who just turned 2 last month, then I have Katie Ann who turned 3 last September. Then there is Jeremiah Lee that I write about the most since he lives in my town who just turned 7 a few days back!
But none of my children have adopted a child until now. I would like you to meet the new owner of my son Troy and his wife Dil, (known as Amanda by all others) His name is Chumba! The reason I say he owns them and not the other way around is because when you are a true pet lover and owner the animals own you! After all Chumba has already made "his people" take adorable pictures of him to mail out.! Is he not just a little QT? He is an Italian greyhound, 9 weeks old and will only be 13 or 14 lbs tops when he grows up.
I have already received updates of his potty training habits, (which are excellent) You go Chumba!!!! Only a dog that owns his parents get people to divulge that much information! Yup I think Chumba found himself some good "people"!!!

I am so cute picture,
and then

I have only just begun picture.
So Congratulations goes out to the new owner of my son Troy and his wife Dil. Congratulations Chumba, you found yourself a great set of folks to run!

A Pit Bull and a Message

Friday, November 07, 2008
Ireally hate to admit it, but sometimes I will keep my mouth shut to keep the peace, or to keep the peace I should say in others minds. I own a half breed Pit Bull, "Nala." Her pictures are all over this blog and my others. When I got her as puppy and took her into the Veterinarians for shots and then to set her up to be spayed, they asked me her breed, I told them she was half Labrador and traveling sales-dog. I was guilty of an out-right point blank BOLD FACED lie to this Veterinarian. It was brought up that she looked "Pit" I crumbled in defeat as I knew the truth was out. I actually asked this Vet to PLEASE not write that down on "Nala's" paperwork. She would not do it. My dog was now officially "labeled" And I worry about her more. I also have a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix. His name is "Buick" and he too is plastered all over my blogs. I do not worry about him hardly at all the way I do about "Nala." Why? Well because he is not labeled and therefore people will not look for something to pick on him about. "Nala" will have to live her life being "different" and looked upon "differently" because of what sooo many people with preconceived notions of what my Nala may do or be capable of doing.
As if Buick could not do the same thing!!!! They are both DOGS afterall!

A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS

Wednesday, November 05, 2008
Photobucket

Remember that they can't do a lot of things for themselves and that they depend on you to make their life a quality life!
A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS..........

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.

5. Talk to me.. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.

~Take a moment today to thank God for your pets. Enjoy and take good care of them. Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without God's critters.

~Now please pass this on to other pet owners. We do not have to wait for Heaven to be surrounded by hope, love, and joyfulness. It is here on earth and has four legs!
