Watery Wednesday
Tuesday, May 12, 2009Without a doubt, I believe Grandmothers have the right to brag! It is our right! This is exactly what I am going to do here for Watery Wednesday. This here is my grandson Jeremiah Lee at age 3. It is Christmas day at Laguna Beach Ca. I am a picture taking nut, not a photographer, just a picture taker. I have a gazillion pictures and without even thinking about it twice, these 3 are my all time favorite!

108 and 8 years old. Camera Critters
Saturday, May 02, 2009Meet Slower. Slower has been in my family since I was 2 years old. At the time we took him to a vet and was told he was between 50 and 60 years old. Slower had a mate. Her name was Slow, but she went to tortoise heaven about 5 years ago. He seems sort of lonely now, kinda just mopes around. Of course him being 108 years old may have something to do with it. LOL!!!
My grandson Jeremiah met slower before but he was too young, so I was glad to get them together again.
Camera Critters and a dragonfly?
Saturday, March 21, 2009
Camera Critters has become another meme that I have truly grown to enjoy participating in. This week I am going to post a dragonfly. My 7 year old grandson has the most uncanny ability to stick his little finger out when he gets by a dragonfly and have that dragonfly land on his little fingers. Tho' I did not get the shot, (I was so shocked by what I saw) this dragonfly actually landed on his little (6) year old finger at the time. I personally have never seen one this big and still am not even convinced it is a dragonfly, but whatever it may be I am posting this for my Camera Critters.

It was after I took these that I took this pic and I really don't know what it is?!?!? Soooo if that does not make it a critter I do not know what will!?

New tires and that's about all!
Monday, February 09, 2009My ex daughter-in-law "Cory" lives two doors down from me. She is the mother of my grandson Jeremiah. My son Travis is Jeremiahs father.(They are no longer together)
As I was walking to the store today I ran into Cory as she stopped to ask me if I need a ride. Answering no we talked for a bit and this is what she told me today.
About 1 week to 10 days ago she went to our neighboring town of Susanville to have new tires put on her car. Apparently Cory noticed her car making noise, not even in consideration that it had something to do with her new tires (and why should she?) she went to a local man whom is retired from being a mechanic/small engine repair to find out what may be wrong with her car.
(I want to add that Cory is in another relationship and she gave birth to Jeremiahs little brother Ayden 4 months ago)
This is Ayden
This Ayden and his mother Cory
This is what she found out----------.
She was driving with only one lug nut on one of her wheels. ,
ONE
Yes again,
I said one (1)
She has been driving herself, her new baby boy AND my Jeremiah Lee in a car with only ONE lug nut keeping her "new" tires on.
I see no excuse for this!
She sees no excuse for this!
I think this is horrifying!
She is beside herself in the horror of this whole situation!
I can not even fathom this!
She is still wondering if this is some horrible nightmare she has not woke up from!
I am so thankful she found out what the noise was and I can end this post with a happyily ever after.
My son Travis and his son, my Jeremiah Lee.
My Grandson
It just sends shivers up my spine tothink of what could have happened.
Myself and my Jeremiah Lee
Then there's the way I think.
Such as there are a whole lot of people out there that are literally dying for a job, yet you have some irresponsible/lazy flake who places just one lug nut on a woman's wheels/tires in the middle of the mountains, in the middle of winter.
WITH
2 little boys in tow.
Excuse me here but
FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Turn your name into a face, meet my family!
Tuesday, October 28, 2008
This is my family, and what they look like according to Turn your name into a face. A fun little site I found through Make use of. Lego styled faces out of names you type in. This is not random either as I tried to trick it and every time I would put in a particular name I still came out with the same out come. Quite frankly the reason I even took it that far is as you can see below it seems as if Allison is the best looking! LOL!!! Oh well! You know the saying, "Shit Happens"
Myself
Eric my oldest,
His wife Cindy,
Their daughter Katie,
Their son Andy,
My 2nd born Travis'
His girlfriend Tiffany,
My boy Jeremiah Lee, Travis's son
My 3rd born Troy
And his wife Amanda
And last but not least my young one, Hunter
So this is my family
Again this fun site can be found at Turn your name into a face
Have fun!!!
I am losing it. My front tooth that is
Monday, September 29, 2008Jeremiah doing the bashful picture taking thing. Yea the same Jeremiah that hams it up for ALL my zillions of pictures I have of him already on my camera and in my computer. A this grinnin' grandma (that would be me) wanted to do is get a picture of him losing that front tooth. No doubt he is going to be singing "all I want for Christmas is my two (2) front teeth," this coming holiday season. I really expected him to lose it that day or night but he did not. He was spending the night at my house when he lost his first tooth and I was thrilled as I figured my days of being the tooth fairy were long gone. So the grinnin' grandma was a little disappointed he did not lose it on this night, but we were pretty busy with skunks and dogs etc.Which is all explained on this blog under Skunks!!! and a Saturday night.
But I did finally get the picture I wanted. I also think it had nothing to do with me just getting lucky.
(He just so happened to have been eating cereal on our newly almost done front porch and he probably just did not want his cereal to get soggy.)

SKUNK!!! and a Saturday night.

A new title for Jeremiah
Tuesday, September 23, 2008
Jeremiah, my little man, received a new title today. Besides grandson and son, nephew and cousin, my Jeremiah Lee acquired the title big brother. Yep, This sweet little boy is now a big brother!
To the left in this picture is the proud grandma Cheryl. Cheryl is the mother of Cory on the right whom is Jeremiah's mother and now the proud mom of Aidan Alexander that was born today at a little after 9 A.M.
and weighed in at 7lbs. 11oz.
Even though my son and Cory are no longer a couple, Cory will always be a big part of my life because she is the mother to my first born grandchild, Jeremiah Lee. I also am glad as Cory and her new boyfriend moved in two doors down from me which makes it easier for me to see Jeremiah more than ever, (although Jeremiah lives with my son Travis here locally) . I feel as if somehow I became a grandmother again today and of course I am not, but I still feel like bragging about my grandson becoming a big brother!
And a mighty great big brother I bet he will be!
So congratulations to Cory and Chris, and happy birthday to little Aidan Alexander, and of course
HAPPY BIG BROTHER day to Jeremiah Lee!
Littering and a lesson from a then five year old
Saturday, August 02, 2008This was a post I had posted last November (of 07)on my Willowshimmers Woodworks that I am slowly deleting but it has always been one of my favorites for many reasons. Mainly what 5 years olds are capable of "seeing" that perhaps us adults are too busy, too side tracked or just don't have time to see (sad)
Littering!!!
It is Saturday and every friday night I have my grandson spend the night with me so that his parents can have one night a week to be alone as both parents work. I came up with the suggestion and offered it up to them just the way that I just wrote this, and of course they thought it was a wonderful idea and thanked me over and over again for my unselfish kindness and thoughtfulness.Boy did I ever put one over on them!!! Ha! Ha! What a joke. To think they think I was thinking about them.I was thinking about ME and only me. It was my slick way to get to spend extra time with my "Lil' man!!!" Anyway back to what I was saying . Jeremiah (his name) and I went out this morning behind where I live to take the dogs for a walk and to take some pictures. It wasn't very long ago that all the trees were filled with beautiful autumn leaves. Not anymore! So after taking a bunch of pictures we came back here to put them on the computer so that he could see the pictures before his parents came and got him and as we were looking at them ,it was Jeremiah that noticed this paper cup underneath this tree that I took a picture of. Neither one of us noticed it when I was taking the picture though. So I am not quite sure why I wrote all this except perhaps I learned something today! I learned that I hate littering MORE than I had realized and Jeremiah and I went back out there and we picked up that paper cup and we disposed of it in the proper place. I also think that the eyes of a five year old were opened today of how ugly (remember he's the one who spotted the cup in the picture to begin with) and wrong littering is. I also believe he felt proud (as he should) when we went back out there and disposed of it properly "and made our little piece of the world" a nicer and cleaner place! Yes , This saturday visit taught a five year old a lesson and a plenty-nine year old a thing or two.
Forest of Love
Wednesday, July 23, 2008This is one of my all time favorite sites. It is called the Forest of Love. It is a virtual forest where you get to carve your virtual tree, you get pick to out the type of virtual tree and then with a virtual implement of choice you then "carve" you and your loved ones initials on it and then you place it in your virtual forest, and if that weren't enough , you then GET TO write about it on your blog like me. LOL!!!
Seriously tho' I think this is a fun site that you can show your love for someone and if you do not want to, you can do it anonymously. This would be perfect I think for valentines day, a birthday or
JUST A GRANDMA LIKE ME PROFESSING HER LOVE FOR HER GRANDCHILD!
This stands for grandma and Jeremiah Lee
They also have plus signs and hearts etc. I used the and sign for us.
Fires and Little League
Thursday, June 26, 2008This is what it looked like at the little league awards ceremony today. Quite frankly I am a little shocked they even had it in this kind of smoke, BUT the kids deserved it and why should they have to wait, ya know? They all worked real hard this year, and I for one am proud of all the boys and girls that played. It was fun and I hate to see it over sooooo soon!
You will notice how smokey the next pictures of Jeremiah Lee and me are right after this post . It is sooooo very sad.
